driving & rochester day 1

So yah today I drove and drove an drove. Initially I had my doubts on whether or not I was going to make it because it was raining so freaking much. When it was raining that much I really couldn't see at all. But after a while it seemed like it cleared up alot.

I got to "the house". It's a very cool house. They each have their own stuff setup that makes the place their own. It's very cool. We ended up picking up Glenn and Dave and going to Dinasour BBQ which was sooo much fun.

I went to the haloween party at the 94 colony. I saw a lot of the guys but there were wayy to many people there to have a good time. i felt i was going to end up getting puked or spilled on. I will try and see the guys tomorrow.

probably go to bed soon.

before the trip

I'm excited for this Trip to rochester. I haven't seen my friends from school in a really long time. This trip is really going to give me an oppurtunity to relax, listen to music, and do some thinking. I'm taking my laptop with me so I'm going to be blogging along the way.

Going to hang out with my boys from G2 ono Friday nite. They are having a big party at 92 colony. I am going to be staying with my friends from E4 at the house that they have. That's going to be awesome. They all have some crazy plans for haloween.

Probably one of the things that I am looking for to is going to New Song for church. I haven't seen Pastor Riling and those guys and so long. I feel like my heart is really with the people at New Song. They are in the new spot in MCC which should be interesting.

justin's hardcore moment

One of my best friend's Ally is a vocalist in a hardcore Christian rock band, Blood Lined Calligraphy. She for a while has been wanting me to come to one of her shows. Im not really into the whole hard core scene. I'm more a dave matthews, beatles, disptach kind of guy. But i went with an open mind. I have been to some pretty tough concerts. I lasted 3rd row of a Blindside concert.

So I went and I actually saw a whole bunch of people that I know. That was kind of nuts. After listening to like 4 bands and watching Alisha (Ally) buzzing around with all over her band groupies, her band actually got on stage. I was impressed. She masterfully controlled the stage. Where all the other bands just kind of played and the crowd didn't really get into it, the crowd really got into with her up there.

About the third song she said that this one is for justin...i was like awwwwwww. It meant alot. I will definitely come to another one of her shows despite the fact I really don't like hardcore music. She was awesome.

identity

Tonite was the very first nite of intersect at our church. It the service they are trying to put together for college-aged students. I liked it alot. I think it has some real potential. There were about 15 ppl there. That made it comfortable. Hey I even met a girl there, jenna, she seemed cool.

eric talked about identity tonite and where you find it and how we should find it in our relationship with God. Its so easy to find your relationship with other things. Its easy to kind of waffle down the path. It's so easy to just wanna shake your fist at God because things don't work out the way you want them to.

conf call tomorrow...probably work on more computer store stuff....ehh work.

How to pick up and carry your iMac G5

Don't know how to pick up and carry your iMac G5? It's easy.

Before moving your computer, make sure all cables and cords are disconnected.

Pick up the iMac G5 by grasping both sides of the computer. Carry it to wherever you wish.

e-commerce

For work I'm investigating how to integrate e-commerce. Im in charge of a project to redo the MSU Computer Store web site (http://cstore.msu.edu). It's really been interesting.

I guess I never really took the time took look at all the aspects how things are bought and sold over the internet. We are trying to turn the site into http;//www.amazon.com. I have been looking into different packages that will help to make the site better and more interactive.

Other then that work has been pretty boring. I have been learning alot of new things but work really hasn't really been challening me like I wished it had. I am getting paid really well which is nice. I am looking forward to the usability and accessibility conference next week. It should be really good.

a song

Jars of Clay wrote this song called World Apart. It is a song that i have been really thinking about. It has been a blessing to me. There have been a lot of things I have been thinking about and pondering.

I look beyond the empty cross
forgetting what my life has cost
and wipe away the crimson stains
and dull the nails that still remains
More and more I need you now,
I owe you more each passing hour
battle between grace and pride
give up not so long ago
So steal my heart and take the pain,
wash the feet and cleanse my pride
take the selfish, take the weak,
and all the things I cannot hide
take the beauty, take my tears
this sin-soaked heart and make it yours
take my world apart
take it now, take it now
and serve the ones that I despise
speak the words I can't deny
watch the world I used to love
fall to dust get blown away
I look beyond the empty cross
forgetting what my life has cost
so wipe away the crimson stains
and dull the nails that still remain
so steal my heart and take the pain
take the selfish, take the weak
and all the things I cannot hide
take the beauty, take my tears
take my world apart, take my world apart
and I pray, and I pray, and I pray
take my world apart

9 Reasons For Why I'm Voting For George W.

These are the reasons that I'm voting for George W. Bush.
1. He doesn't see terrorism as a reactionary problem. You go after it before it can come to you.
2. He believes in cutting taxes for everyone. He has a track record of cutting taxes for the middle class but also for businesses and upper class. The upper class are the ones that are going to buy and invest in large amounts. This is what's going to cause growth in the economy.
3. He favor's less government control of health care. There are countries all over the world that have universal health care. It's free health care but people are getting forced to wait in lines and don't get treated. People come over from canada into the northern states to use our heath care system. I read a story this week about a canadian man who got stabbed and couldn't get treated because he had to wait in line.
4. He believes in schools of choice. If one school isn't getting the job done then we need to get kids and the money out of that school and into another school that is gettng the job done and can meet their needs. This will cause schools to want to get better.
5. He is opposed to abortion and believes human life starts at conception.
6. We share the same religous beliefs and values.
7. He seems like a guy I can relate too...sit out on the back porch and have a beer with.
8. Supports a faith-based initiative, which would allow non-profit organizations to take government money to do work where government has done the work in the past.
9. The courts are there to interpret the law and the constitution and not to make laws.

team america...F*** yah

so I saw Team America: World Police last nite. It was a really good movie. It was like side spitting funny. It was just really funny. They could have done with out the puppet sex scene, even though it was dang funny. I might have to go see this movie again.

I bought the game Call of duty for my mac. It seems really awesome. I love realistic first person shooters. Plus this is a game that the guys at work play online. So i might be able to get in on a multiplayer session or two.

im getting into the blogging. This is fun.

you're hired

I have been watching the apprentice lately. i guess the show really brings out my business side. The guys on the show go their butt's kicked in a fashion design challenge it was kind of funny. There are all these reality shows that I really love that I would love to try out for but you have to be 21. I can't wait till I'm 21.

blogging has been fasicnating me more and more. I would really like to do a usability study on blogs. I haven't see any research in how successful they have been. That would be a sweet grad school project. I can't wait to get back to school. I love classes I love learning. Oh man I am such a geek.
