Apparently there is a iPod Linux Kernel out there. If you are tired of Apple's iPod OS, you can free yourself.

there are actually goood reasons for running linux on an ipod - 1) it gets around Apple's evil DRM, allows you to copy music to and *from* the ipod and decripples the restricted sampling on the audio recorder. + you can do cool stuff like play videos:
